Ana’s first piece of advice was to start your weight loss journey today instead of pushing it off to a later date.

Ana’s tips for starting a weight loss journey

‘Don’t wait until Monday. How many times have you waited to start on Monday and have you actually won?’ she asked.

Keeping that in mind, she noted that you also have to do it ‘when you’re busy.’

‘If you wait for life to calm down, you’re going to be waiting a long time. If you can get through the busy times, you can get through anything,’ she explained.

Ana’s third tip was to invest in yourself — ‘not the drive-through.’

‘How many times do you order takeout? How many times do you stop for coffee? How many times do you buy something, and you’re like I really didn’t need that?’ she asked.

‘Instead of spending on things recklessly or unnecessarily, take the money you would have spent and put it in a jar and use that to invest in yourself.’

Ana went on to say that one of her favorite things that she did was ‘take out timelines’ when she started her weight loss journey.

‘I stopped trying to lose the weight within three months — or even six months. I stopped focusing on an event to lose X-amount of weight by [a certain time],’ she said.

The mom added that he gave herself a one-year minimum to lose the weight and took ‘everything one day at a time’

‘I gave myself a whole year at the very least. If you focus on smaller goals, more achievable goals, you’ll be able to stick with it.’

Ana’s final recommendation was to ‘take everything one day at a time.’

‘Don’t worry about next week. Focus on today, on your next meal, on your next workout, two pounds at a time,’ she concluded.

Ana was three months postpartum when she started her weight loss in July 2022.

The mom began following Beachbody’s 2B Mindset nutrition program, which uses a plate method to teach portion control and prevent mindless eating.

She explained in a previous video that she found success with the eating plan because it helped her reach her goals without her having to count calories or give up her favorite foods.

Ana added that she also drank plenty of water and made a point to do workouts that she enjoys, including lifting weights, Pilates, yoga, and cardio workouts.

‘Working out accelerates the process,’ she noted.

‘Anyone that tells you just working out will get you those results is lying to you. Plain and simple.

‘The nutrition is so, so important. If you don’t have a nutrition plan that you love and it’s motivating to follow… then you’re going to struggle.’
