Strictlys Zara McDermott tipped to win show after tell-tale sign in launch show

Strictly Come Dancing star Zara McDermott has been predicted to be the winner of the newest series of the show.

The BBC competitive dance show officially kicked off on Saturday (September 23) as all couples took to the dancefloor for the first time. Veteran comedian and actor Les Dennis scored lowest, whilst thespian Nigel Harman came out on top on Week 1.

But whilst the couples start their preparations for this week's dance next Saturday (September 30), bookmakers are trying to work out who will win the whole show. Now, eyes are on Love Island star Zara McDermott and her partner Graziano Di Prima.

Body language experts have been looking for signs to see who has the strongest connect and in turn, could be potential victors. Zara and Giovanni have since been determined to have the most genuine relationship of the partners on launch night.

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Bingo, body language expert Darren Stanton said the pair could go far in the competition. He explained that the pair are already showing tell-tale signs they trust each other.

"Zara and Graziano have a great rapport with lots of reciprocal liking and tactile moments throughout rehearsals and during the routine. It's clear Zara has a lot of confidence and trust in Graziano through her authentic smiles and their friendly connection," Darren said.

"They gave each other lovely signals of pride and reassurance during the routine. There's a lot of respect between them. I think they could go on to be potential winners of the competition."

It comes as pundits throw their hats in the ring as to who could emerge victorious at the end of the series. Bookies currently have EastEnders actor Bobby Brazier in front at 3/1, followed by Nigel Harman at 11/2.

It comes as fans were left confused at the way Zara was introduced to the show, having been described as a "documentary maker". However, Zara first found fame on the hit ITV dating show Love Island.

After leaving the show in 2018, Zara joined E4's Made In Chelsea after meeting current boyfriend Sam Thompson. It was after this stint that Zara featured in documentaries discussing, amongst other things, revenge porn.

Fans of the show were quick to point out Zara's reality TV beginnings, with many questioning the BBC's description. One viewer wrote at the time: "Zara McDermott talking about her 'documentary making world' when everyone just remembers her for squeezing the tears out on the park bench with Sam Thompson."

Dancing the cha cha cha, Zara and Graziano left the judges lukewarm, scoring the pair a meagre 19 points. The worst score from the judging panel came from Craig Revel Horwood, who gave the duo a three.

This weekend will see the celebrities take to the ballroom to dance for a second time. The public will vote and the first couple will then be eliminated from the competition.
