Alex Jones baby: ‘New series!’ The One Show host announces TV comeback after giving birth

Alex Jones, 42, and her husband, Charlie Thomson, welcomed another baby boy into the world, named Kit, last month.

The Welsh presenter has been on maternity leave from The One Show, but she will be back on TV in Shop Well, For Less? on Wednesday.

The mother-of-two fronts the programme with BBC Breakfast’s Steph McGovern, who announced she was pregnant at the weekend.

Alex uploaded a video of the trailer to her Instagram, along with the caption: “New series alert!!! Steph and I will be back on your telly next Wednesday night the 24th at 8pm for @shopwellforless Here’s little taster……”

In the video, the voiceover said: ”Alex and Steph are back to tell you that big bands aren’t always the best option.

“Savvy shoppers this way, Shop Well For Less? on BBC One.”

Many of Alex’s 180,000 followers left messages to reveal their excitement at the new series.

One person replied: “Yes brilliant looking forward to seeing you girls back on.”

Another said: “Great! Love this show.”

A third addressed Steph’s pregnancy news and said: “Trust you’ll be giving mummy tips to our Steph?”

Meanwhile, Alex gave her Instagram fans an update on life as a mum-of-two earlier this week.

She took to Instagram to open up on her sleep deprivation and said: “For once, Kit and Teddy are actually sleeping at the same time.

Sounding exhausted, Alex admitted: “I’m desperate to sleep and now I can’t!

“So, I’ve been looking at sunscreens for about half an hour.

“I think it’s what they call Sod’s law,” she sighed exasperatedly.

Steph had some baby news to reveal of her own last weekend as she announced she’s pregnant with her first child with her girlfriend.

She tweeted to her fans: ”I see my news is out! Yep, I am no longer with pot belly……I am now with child #babyonboard.”

Steph addressed her pregnancy on BBC Breakfast in the week and said she’s had a “rough start”.

Talking to her co-stars Jon Kay and Sally Nugent, Steph spoke about her journey so far and said: “I’m good thank you, bit of a rough start but I’m alright now thank you.”

BBC Breakfast airs every day on BBC One from 6am.
