Bake Off star quits challenge after fainting on-air
‘Gutted’ Bake Off star forced to quit challenge due to medical issue
Bake Off contestant Tasha was sent home after feeling faint during a technical challenge.
The 27-year-old, who is the show’s first deaf contestant, was forced to quit filming after a medic took her outside the tent for a check-up.
Tasha and her fellow contestants had been hoping to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith with their chocolate week creations.
However, the show’s biggest challenge was filmed during the heatwave earlier this summer which led to Tasha being unable to cope with the soaring temperature and the heat in the kitchen.
She exclaimed: “I feel really dizzy.”

As she watched over her white chocolate caramelising in the oven, she fell to the ground before being taken out of the tent to see a medic. “It’s so hot, I think I need some air,” she commented, as the medic advised her to take her time.
“Make sure you take nice and slow breaths,” he advised. Alison Hammond went out afterward to comfort the visibly distressed Tasha and advised her to go home.
Tasha explained: “I had a massive migraine last night. I thought I could feel better this morning but…”
“I can see you’re not well,” Alison added. “Go home sweetheart, go home and rest, I’ll walk you back [to the tent].”
