BBC Strictlys Nigel Harman urged to be careful by ex pro Brendan Cole
Former EastEnders star Nigel Harman will join Strictly Come Dancing
Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Brendan Cole has warned this year’s contestant Nigel Harman to “be careful” after watching him perform on Saturday night.
Nigel, 50, and his dance partner Katya Jones, 34, performed a Quickstep but Nigel didn’t seem too happy with the respectable 31 points he received from the judges.
Now Brendan, 47, has waded in and given the actor some advice on how to deal with the criticism.
He told Sky Bingo: “I do understand the frustration that he would have felt.
“I’m pretty sure he would have felt like he’d done a really good number because he doesn’t necessarily know the difference between good or bad at this stage.

“He doesn’t know the aspects that make a good Quickstep turn into a great Quickstep.
“He did what was being asked of him but there was certainly something missing and when you don’t understand that you can be bitterly disappointed to receive any sort of negativity.”
The dancer concluded: “He will need to be careful because people will give you one chance, but they might not give two or three.”
Brendan admitted he is a fan of Nigel’s work on the dance floor and hopes to see him and Katya in the final and compete for the Glitterball trophy.

After Nigel received his score, the former soap star raised his eyebrows and looked bitterly disappointed with the result.
Katya could be seen attempting to comfort her dance partner, before host Claudia Winkleman asked the rest of the celebrities and their partners to hug Nigel.
The host proceeded to speak about the leaderboard and explained Layton Williams and Ellie Leach were neck and neck with 39 points.
Angela Rippon was at the bottom of the board with 28 points, while Nigel was close behind her with 31.
Angela and her partner Kai Widdrington ended up being the ones in the dance-off with Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell.
After both couples fought to save themselves by performing their dances for the second time, all four judges chose to save Bobby and Dianne, leaving Angela and Kai going home.
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
