Benidorm icon Sticky Vicky dies aged 80 leaving family heartbroken

Benidorm icon Sticky Vicky has sadly died at the age of 80 following a long illness.

The dancer and illusionist’s devastated daughter confirmed the news of her mother’s death in a Facebook post.

She penned: “I regret these words, my mother Sticky Vicky passed away today at 6 in the morning, I can’t believe it.

“She has gone, surrounded by her family, with all of our love.

“I thank God for being able to always be by her side, I am left with a broken heart.”

Sticky Vicky’s real name is Victoria María Aragüés Gadea and she performed her final show in 2015.

The star was born in Tenerife in 1943, training as a ballet dancer before devising a nude magic show.

Her X-rated performances soon became famous and she went on to become one of Benidorm’s most well-known performers.

Her vaginal magic show included pulling a variety of items from her nether regions, including ping pong balls and razor blades.

She could often be seen performing for a large crowd of British tourists at the Costa Blanca resort, taking to the stage six shows a night, six times a week at the peak of her career.

Her daughter Maria is continuing her mother’s legacy, performing under the same name after copycats attempted to make money with similar acts.

“I decided to do her show when everyone wanted to take advantage of her name and lie to the public about who her daughter was,” she said previously.

“My intention was to ally myself with my mother to be stronger, and shut up the liars.”

Since the news of Vicky’s sad death, there has been an outpouring of tributes on social media for the late star.

“Just read that Sticky Vicky from Benidorm has passed away aged 80,” wrote Garry. “I hope they pull out all the stops for her funeral.”

“RIP The Legend of Benidorm. Sticky Vicky,” tweeted Ophelia, while Joey added: “RIP Sticky Vicky a truly one off artist!” (sic)

“Sad to hear this, legend in her own, well you know,” John penned. “Rip Sticky Vicky.”

“R.I.P sticky vicky. A true legend. What a sad day,” Luke wrote, as Kirsty added: “RIP Sticky Vicky.”
