Coronation Street legends Kevin Kennedy and Angela Lonsdale reunite 20 years after soap

Coronation Street fans rejoiced as Kevin Kennedy and Angela Lonsdale reunited for a night out after leaving the ITV soap 20 years ago.

Police sergeant Emma, played by Angela, arrived on the cobbles back in 2000 and left in 2003 after being offered a promotion in Newcastle.

She was married to Curly Watts, portrayed by Kevin from 1983, and they had one child together, Ben.

Earlier this week, Angela, 53, enjoyed a night out in Manchester where she supported her on-screen husband Kevin in the Rock of Ages musical on Wednesday.

The two reunited for a sweet selfie, with Angela posting it to her two-thousand followers with the caption: “Reunited with my corrie hubby @realkevinkennedy Break a leg pet!”

“Smashed it KK and so good to see you @alissinc and your gorg mum,” she added in the comments.

The pictured showed Angela in a black wool jumper as Kevin could be see behind her with a massive smile on his face.

Reacting to the nostalgia-inducing snap, one fan wrote: “Wow .. that brings back memories.”

“I think u should both come back to Corrie ….. take over the rovers return….x” another said, as a third added: “Watching you both on Classic Corrie at the moment – it really was the Golden era of Corrie with terrific storylines and legendary characters; Jack & Vera, Fred, Emily, Shelley, Gina, Karen, Norris, Les, Janice, Ashley & Maxine and Martin!"

At the same time, Angela reunited with former co-star and Waterloo Road actor Jason Done, as she said: “Me and blurry @done_jason can’t wait to see ya @realkevinkennedy and all the cast.”

Following the show, Angela took to Instagram once again to share a picture of herself standing in front of Kevin’s glowing marketing poster which showed him in rock and roll garb.

“Well that was right up my street as a rock chic. What a brilliant eve with @done_jason seeing @realkevinkennedy being brilliant with the super talented cast of @rockofagesmusicaluk @palaceandopera all week and on tour !!! Thank you so much KK and what a treat to see you too @kimberly_h_s and @mollcran,” she wrote in the caption.

Following her stint on the soap, Angela went on to star in other staple British shows like Holby City, The Bill, Doctors, Casualty, Wolfblood and Our Girl.

Just last year, she also joined the cast of Hollyoaks as Gill Holmes, the mother of Olly Rhodes’ Joseph Holmes and Ross Adams’ Scott Drinkwell.
