Doctors Diane Keen supported by Corrie star in tearful update after stroke
Doctors actress Diane Keen has issued a health update after recently sharing the news that she suffered a life-threatening stroke.
The star is best known for playing Julia Parsons on the BBC soap from 2003 to 2012 and again in 2020.
The 77-year-old acting veteran took to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, yesterday to address her 6,365 followers.
The BBC star wrote: “Hi everyone. Saw consultant yesterday. Discussed Swelling of legs, dizziness serious issue, & constant pins &needles in right side.
“As if a stroke isn’t enough! Emotions on a hair trigger, many tears shed over trivial things.

“SO tedious! Bright side, physio going well. Hurrah!” she added with a hug emoji. (sic)
Diane was then quickly inundated with messages of support from her friends and followers, including Coronation Street’s Sherrie Hewson.
The star, best known for playing Maureen Holdsworth in the ITV soap between 1993 and 2006, told Diane: “Sending much love xx.”

Another follower named Linda wrote: “Keep going Diane…I know it is a hard road. Take your time & be gentle on yourself. Tearfulness is normal…let it all out! Hugs and love.” (sic)
Diane then replied: “Oh thank you. Such a relief to know tears are a normal side effect of strokes. My world has turned upside down!” (sic)
“Be well Ms Keen! A dreadful time that goes without saying. However fans are rooting for you. Be well, rest and give it time,” Ty added, to which Diane responded: “I’m so grateful, thank you.” (sic)
In September, Diane revealed she had been absent for two months on Twitter due to suffering a “catastrophic stroke” which had come on with “no warning at all”.
She told fans at the time: “Hi lovely followers. Sorry I’ve been absent for 2 months, had Catastrophic stroke, family told I wouldn’t make it.
“Universe intervened & here I am! doing well and determined to get back to normal. Just come home and fighting back hard. Physio going well. Stay safe everyone.” (sic)
