Dr. Dre has been hospitalized after suffering a brain aneurysm on Monday, January 4.
“Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes,” Dr. Dre said in a statement on Tuesday. “I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!”
According to TMZ, the music mogul was rushed by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Dre is reportedly stable and lucid.
Dre, a seven-time Grammy award winner, is credited with helping launch the careers of Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and several other artists. He is also the founder of Aftermath Entertainment and co-founded Beats Electronics and Death Row Records.
Several music artists paid tribute to Dre on social media on Tuesday, including Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg.
“Send your love and prayers to the homie Dr. Dre,” Ice Cube tweeted.
Cube’s son, O’Shea Jackson, also tweeted, “I didn’t want this to be my first tweet of 2021 but I had to stop working just to say I just prayed for Dr. Dre and his family. Me and my family are with you.”
“Get well Dr. Dre we need U cuz,” Snoop Dogg tweeted.
