Ed Sheeran ‘spends £4million on houses to stop neighbours' noise complaints'

Ed Sheeran is going to some pretty extreme lengths to stop his neighbours filing noise complaints on him, spending £4million to secure the houses around him, according to reports.

While the Shape Of You singer continues to battle his neighbours in Sussex over an apparent ‘wildlife pond’ being used ‘as a pool’, according to locals, he’s taking matters into his own hands elsewhere.

According to The Sun, the singer – who is said to be worth $160million (£128million) – has snapped up not only the flat above his Notting Hill restaurant, but also the two houses next to his £19.8million mansion in London.

All in all, the 28-year-old reportedly spent £4million buying up the piles around him to limit the noise his neighbours might hear.

Mate, Ed, we’ll live in your swanky neighbouring flats and we promise not to complain about the noise. As they say, ‘location, location, location!’

A source told the publication: ‘Ed’s had neighbours grumbling about noise before so when he got a chance to buy up the two houses next to his London home, he jumped at the chance.

‘Ed has not only made a wise investment but is limiting the chance of people grumbling about loud music or parties.

‘He also decided to buy the flat above his restaurant because that could have been a massive sticking point for the business going forward.’

Ed’s become quite the property giant, reportedly amassing a real estate portfolio worth £47million – which is the cherry on a cake as pundits predicted the 28-year-old is on track to breaking the billion-dollar worth bracket following his most recent stadium tour.

It comes after the singer and wife, Cherry Seaborn, reportedly continued to anger locals after positioning a bunch of hay bales around the controversial ‘pond’ in Sussex.

He previously called for Suffolk Coastal District Council to remove a condition that prevented his £500,000 pond from being used for anything but wildlife. The kidney-shaped pool sits in the grounds of the Ed’s four-property estate.

Neighbours told Daily Mail that they are concerned it is now being used for recreational activities.

‘It all seems very strange but in actual fact it appears to have been very carefully thought through,’ one local said.

‘The bales have been placed precisely in the right places and at the right angle to shield his pool.’

Ed was granted permission to build on it on the condition that it would be a natural habitat to attract wildlife.

He appealed the planning condition back in June in the hope that the pond could be used for leisure activities such as swimming and fishing rather than only for wildlife.

The District Council made the condition after neighbours expressed concerns that the pond had become more like a swimming pool. In his appeal the singer stated that the condition is not necessary, difficult to enforce, poorly worded and unreasonable.

The pop star has since bought two more properties close by in the area where he grew up and locals have apparently nick-named his new mini-estate Sheeran-ville because he now owns so much property there.

He also has a giant tree house, a pod, a covered swimming pool, and a hot tub in the main garden at his disposal. Ed even converted the barn into his very own personal pub, complete with urinals and a selection of beer.

Seems the lad knows just what he’s doing with this impressive collection of homes.
