EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Trinny Woodall felt 'on my own' during relationship
EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Trinny Woodall claims she felt ‘on my own’ during her relationship with Charles Saatchi as she opens up about their break-up after 10 years together
When Nigella Lawson separated from Charles Saatchi after a ten-year marriage, the Domestic Goddess accused him of having subjected her to ‘intimate terrorism’.
Now, Trinny Woodall has opened her heart about her own-break-up with the super-rich art collector after a decade together.
The former What Not To Wear presenter says she feels ‘very good, actually’ to be single again, as she approaches her 60th birthday next February.
‘I have been in a relationship for ten years, and whatever people choose to believe or read, I know I have been in love with the person I was in a relationship with, and I had good years in that relationship,’ the beauty entrepreneur says. ‘But I also know that I got to a stage where I knew I was not happy in it. And that’s a very tough thing. Because a relationship becomes familiar.’
Speaking to the podcaster Elizabeth Day at the Barbican in London, Trinny adds: ‘Oddly, I never thought, ‘I’m scared to be on my own’. That’s something that didn’t occur to me at all. It was more, ‘Do I feel quite on my own in the relationship?’ And I did. I got to a stage where I felt on my own. So then in the end it was about, ‘OK, I have the power to do what I want to do’. So I just then thought, ‘OK, I’m going to move on’. And it was difficult, because any change is difficult.’

Trinny split up with Saatchi earlier this year. They started going out after he separated from Nigella, 63. She divorced him on the grounds of ‘unreasonable behaviour’ following an argument at a restaurant in Mayfair where the former advertising mogul, 80, was seen ‘tweaking’ her nose and holding his hands around her throat.
Nigella, who was his third wife, reportedly did not seek any financial settlement, merely requesting to take her cooking appliances.
Saatchi does not comment on his private life.
Magic Emma thaws Nuclear Wintour…
Her fearsome reputation has earned her the nickname ‘Nuclear Wintour’.
But Vogue supremo Anna Wintour was seen cracking a rare smile while watching the tennis with Harry Potter actress Emma Watson in New York.
Clearly the star, 33, who played Hermione Granger in the films, had weaved her magic on Wintour, 73, at the U.S .Open.
The magazine boss – who is thought to have inspired the icy fashion editor played by Meryl Streep in 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada – is such a keen tennis fan that she was once spotted sprinting out of a Tom Ford catwalk show to watch her favourite, Roger Federer, play.

Fergie’s joy for godson
Sarah Ferguson is celebrating her godson Albemarle ‘Alby’ Shale’s engagement, to a woman called Chelsea Peters.
Alby is the son of Nicola Williams-Ellis. Her other son is Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi – husband of Fergie’s daughter Princess Beatrice. Alby’s father, Christopher Shale, an associate of ex-prime minister David Cameron, died at Glastonbury Festival in 2011.
‘I am so delighted and proud of my godson,’ the Duchess of York tells me. ‘His father would be skipping with joy and happiness. Chelsea is magical.’
Vogue Williams soon regretted her choice of outfit to the National TV Awards.
The Irish model (right) turned up at The O2 in London on Tuesday wearing a striking £560 black sequinned De La Vali dress, with matching snood, as the temperature hit 29C (85F).
‘It’s pretty hot to be wearing this – I’m melting,’ she wails.
Vogue, 37, who has three children with ex-Made In Chelsea star Spencer Matthews – the brother-in-law of Pippa Middleton — tells me: ‘It was my son’s birthday, so I got ready at his play centre, then got changed in the toilets.’ Oh, the glamour!

He’s still rocking at 81 – but Sir Paul McCartney finds his wife’s bedtime activities are ‘too exciting’ for him. ‘I get ready for bed and the last thing I do is read,’ the ex-Beatle says.
‘Nancy will often look at a [TV] series at that time, but I think it’s not conducive to sleep because some of the things she’ll watch are a little too exciting, and the plot will keep you up all night. So I try to read biographies. After a few pages you start to yawn, the page goes fuzzy, so it’s light off and straight to sleep. I like that.’ But does Nancy?
Prince William travelled across the country in June to publicise his ambitious new programme to ‘end’ homelessness.
And now his friend, the Duke of Westminster, is doing his bit.
The billionaire, 32, who is godfather to Prince George – son of William and Catherine – is launching a social enterprise today called Grosvenor Hart Homes.
It will support vulnerable children and young people by giving them access to affordable homes and tailored support services.
It will invest in more than 750 homes across Chester, the North-West and London in the next decade.
The duke, Hugh Grosvenor, says: ‘We passionately believe that the provision of high-quality, safe, secure, and affordable homes must be paired with outcome-driven support services. I am also particularly pleased to launch this initiative in Chester, my home town.’
Vanessa Feltz thought taking part in Celebs Go Dating would be a good way to recover from breaking up with her fiance, Phats & Small singer Ben Ofoedu, after 17 years because he was unfaithful. But the broadcaster, 61, tells me: ‘I won’t be doing any more reality TV. I get lots of rude messages. I have men sliding into my DMs [private messages on social media].’
