Emily Hartridge dead: YouTube star’s heartbroken boyfriend Jacob Hazell breaks silence in tearful video following shock death at 35: ‘I love you Emily’

YouTube star and TV presenter Emily Hartridge’s boyfriend has broken his silence to pay tribute to the 35 year old following her tragic death this week, in Britain’s first ever electric scooter crash.

Jacob Hazell often shared loved-up videos online alongside Emily on his social media pages, and exclaimed what a positive presence she had been in his life.

Gym owner Jacob, who describes himself as a recovered addict, told his worried 8,000 followers he was doing OK following the news that shocked many this week.

"I've had so many messages from people wanting to check my wellbeing,” he said in a tearful video.

“For all of those who care about my recovery, I'm fine. I just wanted to say thank you for all of the nice messages.

"Emily has three amazing sisters and two amazing parents and they've been fantastic, and I just want to say thank you for all the nice messages I've received.

"I wanted to let people know that I'm fine. I love you all and I love Emily and I really appreciate all of the support."

In June, Jacob had shared a heartwarming tribute to Emily describing how much she had changed his life.

He wrote: “Emily you are THE most down to earth, inspiring, and beautiful person, inside and out that I’ve ever met. Obviously we argue, get in strops, and all the rest of it, but when you dutch oven me in bed, because I’m a weirdo it only draws me closer to you.

“I had got used to going through the ups and downs of life on my own, and was pretty much ready to continue to do that for good. What a nice change it’s been having someone to share it all with x.”

Emily's family confirmed the tragic news in a statement on Instagram, revealing she had died after being involved in a collision.

It read: “Hi everyone. This is a horrible thing to have to say over Instagram but we know many of you were expecting to see Emily today and this is the only way to contact you all at once.

“Emily was involved in an accident yesterday and passed away. We all loved her to bits and she will never be forgotten.

“She has touched so many lives it’s hard to imagine things without her. She was a very special person xxx.”

Tributes have since poured in, with Davina McCall leading the celebrity outpour.

“My heart goes out to Emily’s family and friends. Such a shock. Sending you love and prayers," she wrote.

Made In Chelsea star Ashley James added: “Sending you all so much love. So devastated.”

The popular Instagram star tragically died on Friday 12 July after being involved in a collision near her home in South London.

A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We sent an advanced paramedic, two ambulance crews, an incident response officer and two medics in cars to the scene, with the first of our medics arriving in under four minutes.

"Sadly, despite the extensive efforts of medics, a woman died at the scene.”
