Emmerdale actress rushed to hospital after ‘really bad’ accident
Former Emmerdale star Gemma Oaten has told fans she was taken to hospital after a nasty fall on Wednesday.
Updating her followers about the unexpected incident, she said she “fell really badly” on a walk home with her dog Ruby last night and had to go to A&E.
Gemma added doctors had “discovered I’ve got some nice little chips of bone off my elbow and now I’ve a glamorous sling & a heap of painkillers”.
“Why am I sharing this? Well, to say – that’s life! It’s got it’s ups & downs, but it’s how you handle it that is the game changer,” the 39-year-old continued.
The actress went on to share a picture of her heavily bruised arm with the caption: “News just in, it is a bl***y fracture,” alongside a crying with laughter face. “Lordy!”

Despite the injury, Gemma said she was “so blessed” for things that had happened to her recently.
Sharing a positive note, she continued: “I’m so grateful for the moments, the friendships & the support of all I’m striving for. But most of all I’m proud of myself & how I have reacted.
“As the quote goes, ‘Our greatest glory is not in ever falling, but in rising every time we fall’.”
Gemma added she was “grand” and was feeling “so positive and empowered”.
“I am b***dy delighted with the open, authentic, vulnerable, bounce back ability woman I am becoming.

As she looked up to the camera, Gemma said: “You’re not bringing that home with us.”
Taking to her grid on the same night, she also expressed her excitement about SEED’s upcoming Gala.
