Fern Britton flooded with support as she shares hospital pic after major surgery

Former This Morning star Fern Britton has undergone shoulder replacement surgery, which is where damaged areas of bone are replaced with implants made of metal and plastic.

The best-selling author has since been inundated with support from fans after sharing an update from hospital on social media today.

Taking to Instagram, the former Strictly Come Dancing star shared a snap of herself in a hospital gown with her arm in a sling in view of her 122,000 followers.

She captioned the post: “Morning all!! shoulder replacement done and a success.

“I can’t thank the staff at #StMichaels #NHS hospital in Hayle, cornwall, enough. Such care and kindness.

“Back home, Barbara is in her doctors uniform and attending to me constantly…” she continued.

“Mostly telling me it’s time for her breakfast, elevenses, lunch, tea, supper ..Thank you to my friends Jane, Two Cups, Double C and my lovely girls Grace and Winnie. I’m very lucky!

“See you soon… when I can train my left hand to put a bit of lippy on without looking like The joker. And if you are in similar situation I send my love,” she added with a string of heart emojis. (sic)

Fern’s fans and friends quickly flooded the comments section with supportive messages following her positive update.

“Oh wish you a speedy recovery lovely,” wrote Gaby Roslin.

While Yvonne penned: “Hope you bounce back quickly lovely Fern! Thank goodness for friends and family xx.”

“Lots of love Fern for a speedy recovery,” added Tracey, while Bella commented: “Hope you’re soon back to 100% x.” (sic)

“Had surgery there years ago couldn’t of asked for better treatment. Hope it’s a quick recovery,” wrote Sarah.

“Bless you Fern, take it easy ! Glad it’s gone well, you are now bionic like me & my left hip,” Sally added optimistically. (sic)
