The full Royal family is set to reunite in honour of the late Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, for a television tribute, with the Duke of York, Prince Andrew, and Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, returning for the occasion.
The upcoming BBC show was originally commissioned to celebrate the 100th birthday of the Duke but instead will now feature all of his children and grandchildren sharing their “personal thoughts and reflections” in this “historic tribute”.
The show is set to be an hour long and will air later this month on BBC One, featuring scenes from the Queen’s private cine-film collection.
Viewers will also get to see the late Duke’s private study, library and office in the show along with insight from staff.
Prince Harry, who left his official royal duties but returned for the late Duke's funeral in April, will appear on the special tribute show.
The Duke of York, Prince Andrew, is also set to appear after having stepped down from public duties due to his reported friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
In the announcement from the BBC, they said: “For the first time on television, more than a dozen members of the Royal family offer their personal thoughts and reflections as they pay an historic tribute to the extraordinary life of His Royal Highness Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh.
“All the children of the Queen and the Duke, along with their adult grandchildren and other members of the Royal family have agreed to take part in this unique portrait of the longest-serving consort in royal history.”
As the show was originally set to celebrate his 100th birthday, some of the interviews featured were filmed before his death in April of this year.
Now repurposed as a tribute feature, new interviews and scenes have been added to reflect his passing.
The BBC continued: “There are poignant recollections, plenty of humour and numerous fresh insights into the character and legacy of this royal pioneer.
