Harry and Meghan werent invited to Elton Johns annual Oscars party, says expert

Prince Harry andMeghan Markle were not invited toSir Elton John’s annualOscars bash, aroyal expert has said.
The snub proves the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are “nobodies in Hollywood”, author Tom Bower added.
Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, failed to appear at any Academy Awards 2023 events over the weekend.
One of the glitzy events was hosted by Sir Elton, the pop legend and friend ofPrincess Diana, who hosted the annual Oscars party for his AIDS Foundation – raising a record $9m (£7.4m) for the cause.
This year's function was attended by the likes of model Heidi Klum, fashion designer Donatella Versace and singer Rina Sawayama.
But Harry and Meghan were absent, with royal author Mr Bower suggesting their no-show was a sign of their dwindling influence in the US.
He told GB News: "They weren't even invited to Elton John's party at the Oscars. They really are nobodies in Hollywood!"
The Elton John AIDS Foundation was established in 1992 and its mission is to be a powerful force in the end of the AIDS epidemic.
The cause was close to Princess Diana’s heart.
In April 1987, she opened the UK's first purpose built HIV/Aids unit that exclusively cared for patients infected with the virus, at London Middlesex Hospital.
In front of the world's media, Princess Diana shook the hand of a man suffering with the illness – and she did so without gloves, publicly challenging the notion that HIV/Aids was passed from person to person by touch.
Tickets for Sir Elton’s annual bash are sold to the general public as well as invites being sent off to top celebrities.
Harry and Meghan’s absence from the party comes after Harry revealed in his bookSpare that he and the I'm Still Standing singer had a disagreement while on holiday.
During their stay with Elton and his husband David Furnish at their house in France, Harry discovered Elton’s memoir Me was set to be serialised in the Daily Mail – a publication the Sussexes havetaken legal action against in the past.
Harry asked the pop star why he had chosen a newspaper he claimed had made his life “miserable.”
Sir Elton’s response was that he “wanted people to read” the book – causing the Duke to back off.
Harry said: “I loved him. I’ll always love him. And I also didn’t want to spoil the holiday.”
On Friday, a source told OK! that Harry and Meghan’s demands over attendingKing Charles’ Coronation threatened to plunge the big day into ‘chaos’.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were said to be locked intense negotiations with theRoyal Family over their attendance at the historic celebrations.
An insider told us a major sticking point was how the Sussex childrenArchie, three, and one year oldLilibet were to be included on the day.
The Sussexes have already announcedthey have received an invitation to the Coronation– but the couple are yet to confirm their attendance for thebig event on 6 May.
