Homes Under The Hammer’s Martin Roberts leaves guest worried in dangerous live TV move

Homes Under The Hammer star Martin Roberts, 56, usually showcases his skills during the pre-recorded episodes of the BBC property show. Today, he was filmed sanding a piece of wood via video link on The Jeremy Vine Show, but seemed to forget about his safety despite urging viewers to be careful.

You’re not using gloves, what if you sanded your hands?

The show’s guests were stunned to see Martin demonstrating the potentially dangerous move without wearing gloves or a mask.

Martin began his segment by sharing DIY tips for all the family from his garden, as well as highlighting safety precautions.

The cameraman then zoomed in on Martin sanding a piece of wood with his bare hands as part of his project.

The panel could then be seen looking at the screen, with guest Dr Sarah Jarvis appearing concerned.

Jeremy then said to Martin: “Sarah is literally having kittens.”

She chimed in: “What about all that stuff about protecting yourself with gloves? You’re not using gloves, what if you sanded your hands?”

But dismissing his concerns, he replied: “Look at this, I’m focusing on making this look beautiful,” which prompted the panel to laugh.

He then showed the piece of wood to the camera to show them the difference his work had made in “seconds”.

“It’s brilliant, we were worried for you there,” the presenter added.

Laughing, the property expert replied: “Obviously when I’m sanding, I should’ve been wearing my mask, but I didn’t, I’ll be fine.”

Despite this, he then coughed as he appeared to have dust in his throat, which continued to make the panel chuckle.

Martin concluded: “Anyway, that’s a simple project you can take on at home.
