Im A Celeb legend shares five-word response after Grace Dents sudden exit

I’m A Celeb: Grace Dent leaves the jungle on medical grounds

I’m A Celebrity legend Phil Tufnell has said he “feels sorry” for Grace Dent after she “lost mojo” and left the show on medical grounds.

The food critic, 50, appeared to be struggling in the jungle as she told the camera, “I just want to go home,” in Sunday’s episode.

While attending I’m A Celebrity sponsor Tombola’s ‘Critter Challenge’ event, the former King of the Jungle shared his views on Grace’s exit.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, he simply said: “I felt sorry for Grace.”

He continued: “I hope she’s okay and everything. You could see over the last couple of days that she had lost her mojo.”

After she exited from the show on Monday, ITV released a statement saying: “Unfortunately Grace Dent has left the show on medical grounds.

“She has been a great campmate and will be missed by her fellow celebrities and viewers alike.”

The Masterchef star was picked by the pubic to do the Down The Tubes trial alongside Josie Gibson, but after her departure, she was replaced by Danielle Harold.

Phil, 57, of course won the second series of the Australian-based show back in 2003 before returning for the South Africa show earlier this year.

The former cricketer gave Express.co.uk his expert opinion on the other celebrities, citing Jamie Lynn-Spears as an example of going through a hard time and pushing through.

He said: “Look at Jamie Lynn-Spears, crying the first three days. I can understand, she’s American, she doesn’t know anyone, her kids and then she did that trial and completely felt embodied by it.

“Some people start well and then the cracks show, and then some of the cracks show and then they’re into it.”

Since Express.co.uk spoke to Phil, Jamie Lynn has also left the show on medical grounds, making her the second star in two days to depart the show.

Speaking about who he’s been enjoying on the series, Phil expressed: “It’s bubbling up nicely. I like Josie [Gibson], she looks like someone who is down to work. I like Fred [Sireix] too.”

Phil attended Tombola’s ‘Critter Challenge’ event on Monday and was taken back to his jungle days with a mystery box game, whilst being hooked to a polygraph machine to test his reaction.

Phil remained calm, with his sweat gland activity and blood pressure only raising by nine percent.
