James Corden has addressed the revelation that he doesn't actually drive the car during his infamous Carpool Karaoke skit for the Late late Show.
The talk show host, 41, was forced to break his silence after news of the fake driving was exposed and footage proved the SUV gets towed along by a trailer for the segment.
The funnyman attempted to make light of the shocking claims as he took to social media to poke fun at the whole saga and mock the controversy.
James responded to the confusion with a hilarious tweet in which he shared a photo of himself with Samuel L Jackson from the infamous Pulp Fiction ski.
In the snap, the host joined the legendary actor to recreate the iconic scene by sitting on stools in front of a fake steering wheel.
He shared the photo with his 10.6 million Twitter followers alongside a cheeky jibe. He joked: "Guys, we don’t even use a real car."
James' attempt to add a light-hearted spin on recent revelations comes a video went viral yesterday which appeared to prove that James doesn't drive the car while filming Carpool Karaoke.
Footage showed the host sitting beside Justin Bieber in the black SUV which was getting pulled along on a rig covered in cameras.
As fans demanded explanations online and some said the lies have given them 'trust issues', the executive producer of the US talk show tried to calm things down.
Also taking to his Twitter account to address the claims, Ben Winston clarified the use of he rig and insisted James does drive.
In a series of tweets, Ben wrote: "James always drives during Carpool! Sometimes when there is a stunt component and its unsafe to drive, we will use a rig.
"We only use a rig when we are doing a 'stunt' as part of the Carpool – when it would be impossible for James to drive! This has occurred only maybe 4 times in 50 or so carpools… Safety is key!"
As fans continued to appear shocked by the exposing picture which suggested the telly star doesn't actually drive his guests around when they 'carpool', Ben explained further.
He detailed: "By stunt I mean – dance routines / costumes / props etc ! Dont worry too much though. I’m pretty sure there are bigger issues to worry about!"
Earlier this week, Justin Bieber teased fans as he joined James to film a new Carpool Karaoke skit in LA.
It seems another Carpool Karaoke segment is in the works given Bieber's new music this year, and the massive success of their first two Carpool Karaoke videos that came out in May and November 2015.
The pair were snapped filming for an upcoming segment of The Late Late Show, where they were seen serving up tacos on a “Yummy” food truck to fans.
Carpool Karaoke is featured on The Late Late Show with James Corden, which airs on CBS in the US.
