Jodie Comer said her life was “blown up” after “false information” came out about her boyfriend. The Killing Eve actress is said to be dating Lacrosse player James Burke.

All this false information came out about him

The TV favourite, who has not confirmed or denied the romance, was first linked with him in July.

It was then claimed by various outlets that he was a supporter of Donald Trump’s Republican party.

Many were quick to insist Jodie was “cancelled” due to her supposed beau’s political leanings.

She has now spoken out about the difficult time with the upsetting intrusion.

“All this false information came out about him, and people just ridiculed him and me and my family,” the Doctor Foster star started.

She continued: “People took these tweets as truth. That was the biggest time my life has been kind of blown up and publicised in that way.

“A lot of people read things and they go, ‘Wow, she’s that, she’s this type of person’.”

Jodie went on to say she wasn’t going to “spend my life and my energy trying to convince people otherwise”.

The Liverpudlian also discussed steering her life away from prying eyes and the intensifying interest in her private life.

During the same chat with PORTER, she said it was important for her having a boyfriend not in the public eye.

“I’m very cautious of what I bring into my family’s life, it’s a safety thing,” she stated.

Thankfully, Jodie said she feels as though she’s “sussed” things when it comes to her other half and her public life.

Discussing social media, she shared: “It took a while, but it got to a point where I noticed it was affecting my health, I think you forget how accessible we are when we have mobile phones.

“In my head, it was like there is a line of people outside my front door who have nasty things to say to me, and I’m saying, ‘Come on in! Please sit on my couch, tell me’.”

Jodie added: “When I realised that was what I was doing, I knew I just had to stop and I haven’t done it since.

“It’s like, I don’t want these people in my house, I don’t want them in my head.”

Back in April, during an interview with British Vogue, Jodie spoke of how she was in a “fairly new” relationship.

Jodie told the publication: “I’m very much in it. I think love’s the best.

“I’d been single for a while and just kind of going with the flow and doing my thing.”

Express.co.uk has contacted a spokesperson for Jodie Comer asking for comment.
