Joe Wicks helped the nation stay fit during the first national lockdown in March of last year with workout classes streamed on his YouTube channel, The Body Coach TV. Today marked the return of his workouts as he hopes to inspire people around the country to keep active amid the third national lockdown.
Back in March last year Joe announced he would become the nations PE teacher as schools closed during the first national lockdown.
After posting his online workout sessions on his YouTube channel, The Body Coach’s channel grew in popularity with many joining in each day.
At the time, Joe shared how thankful he was in a post on Instagram, saying: “Words can’t express how happy and proud I have felt every day this week as the nations PE teacher.
“I’ve been overwhelmed with the response and the support it’s had from everyone.”

After Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Monday, January 4, the country would be put into lockdown for the third time Joe revealed he would be continuing PE with Joe on his channel.
On Instagram, the fitness star said: “PE with Joe is back.
“Starting Monday the 11th January at 9am on my YouTube channel.
“I am committing to 3 live sessions per week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9am(UK time) They will be 20 minutes long and designed for children.
“Please please share this with as many families as you can and let your schools know so they can notify the parents ASAP and we can get as many young children taking part.
“This is so important for our children’s emotional and mental health. Lots of love Joe.”
And fans are clearly eager to get moving as Joe’s first video back is currently trending number one on YouTube.

How much does Joe Wicks earn on YouTube?
According to new research by Reincubate Camo, which looked at how the second lockdown affected the top 10 most popular YouTubers, Joe is estimated to have earnt more than £6,000.
This figure suggests the YouTube star could earn approximately £75,000 over the next year.
The research also revealed Joe gained 30,000 new subscribers as well as six million more views to his channel in the November lockdown.
In the first lockdown, Joe, who has 2.65 million subscribers, chose to donate any money raised on his videos towards the NHS.
In a post on his Instagram, he explained: “I’ve decided that as long as I’m the nations PE teacher, every single penny of the money generated on these videos is going to the place where we need it the most right now.
“All of it is going straight to the NHS, to support the real heroes right now.
“Thank you for watching, joining in and sharing… I’m loving being your PE Teacher and now you can watch again, knowing you’re not only staying fit, you’re also helping raise money for the NHS.”
Whether he will follow suit and donate his earnings to the NHS this time round is unknown.
