Katie Price slams ex Dwight Yorke and shares heartbreaking way he refuses to see Harvey
Reality star Katie Price has slammed her ex Dwight Yorke and said he turns down the chance to see their shared son Harvey on his birthday every year.
Katie gave birth to Harvey in 2002 after she had a short relationship with foodballer Dwight, who later admitted to being unfaithful to the glamour model.
Harvey suffers from complex medical needs due to the rare genetic condition Prader-Willi Syndrome and has also been diagnosed with ADHD, autism and septo-optic dysplasia, which causes blindness.
In a interview with The Guardian, Katie slammed her ex and said dispite many attempts to involve the former footballer in their lives, he refuses to know his son.
Katie, who also shares children Junior, 18, and Princess, 16, with ex-husband Peter Andre, and kids Jett, nine, and Bunny, five, with former flame Kieran Hayler, said: “The door is always open. I would love the day I see Dwight and Harvey in front of each other.
"My mum still contacts his manager every year, and asks does he want to see Harvey for his birthday, and it’s always the same – 'no'.”
She continued: “I just want Dwight to know what a gorgeous young man Harvey is. Harvey has so much banter. He’s just a funny little b*******. You never know what’s going to come out of his mouth. He rules the roost when he’s home.”
OK! has contacted Dwight's representative for comment.
Kate also recently expressed concern over her eldest son, who resides at National Star College in Gloucester, and said he regularly calls her in tears to tell her he misses her.
Katie opened up on her podcast and said “For a 21-year-old, he's always going to be my baby”.
Last month, Harvey wasrushed into hospital due to issues with his ear, which led to him having to have his ear syringed.
At the time, Katie shared that Harvey had called her in tears following the ordeal and that she had gone to visit him soon after. But it seems that the phone calls have continued since.
Katie revealed to OK! Last month that she is still “fighting” for Harvey everyday after she launched a petition in 2017 to make online abuse an offence after her disabled son was subjected to hateful comments online.
After launching Harvey's Law, the former TV star received a huge wave of support from the public, later appearing the Commons Petitions Committee with her mother, Amy Price.
Katie later hit a wall when it became apparent that online trolls couldn't be properly charged with criminal behaviour, but she is still calling for online abuse to be made a specific offence.
