Leonardo DiCaprio’s costume from Titanic is expected to fetch up to $240,000 as it goes up for auction
Leonardo DiCaprio was catapulted into superstar status with his role at Jack Dawson in Titanic, and now some memorabilia from the film is available to the public, for a price.
One of the costumes made for the now 48-year-old actor during the making of the blockbuster is being auctioned off next month.
The lot consists of a pair of tan corduroys with suspenders, a white collarless shirt and a charcoal vest.
A tag inside the vest bears the name of the tailor, Dominic Gherardi, and reads ‘Mr. Leonardo DiCaprio’ with the date August ’96.
Propstore, which is selling the outfit, expects it to fetch somewhere between $120,000 and $240,000.

The bidding is set to begin November 9 and end November 12 in London.
The James Cameron written and directed Titanic was the Barbie of its generation.
The film remained number one at the box office for 15 weeks in a row.
Much of that was due to fans returning to see the three hour drama over and over again.
By the end of its box office run, Titanic has earned $1.8 billion dollars.
The hit earned another $400 million from re-releases, including the return to theaters for a short run in February to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
The 1997 movie earned 11 Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director.
Kate Winslet earned her second Academy Award nomination for her role as heiress Rose Dewitt Bukater.

Leo was snubbed that year, much to the dismay of millions.
At the time, a spokesperson for the Academy told Entertainment Weekly many fans had flooded the phones complaining about the decision, ‘asking if anything can be done to get Leonardo nominated before the awards show.’
‘The calls did not just come from teenagers,’ the spokesperson revealed, saying, ‘One older woman called and said the whole state of Florida was upset.’
Other items up for interest in the auction include a pair of sneakers from Tom Hanks’ award winning run in Forrest Gump, and a bull whip from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
A light-up C-3PO head from Star Wars: A New Hope is expected to go for somewhere between $600,000 and $1.2 million.
