Christmas may not be the happiest time of year for the residents of Albert Square, but the same cannot be said of ex-EastEnders actress Martine McCutcheon who is already getting into the festive spirit.
The soap star, who first found fame as Tiffany Mitchell, teamed with department store John Lewis to decorate her new home in what Martine dubbed a ‘classic but beautiful style’.
Donning a stylish black silk dress and delicate silver jewellery, Martine beamed as she shared the similarly monochromatic décor on social media.
"I absolutely love colour but I seem to go back to silver, neutrals, whites, greys…I find them to be really effective…" she told her fans.
Featuring a tree bedecked in frosted glass baubles, twinkling fairy lights and black velvet trim, Martine was clearly enjoying some festive fun as she supped champagne and modelled the brand’s extensive Christmas range in the short clip.
There was even a cameo in the Instagram video, with a surprise appearance from Martine’s beloved dog, Don the Shitzu, who playfully chewed a slipper.
Even more luxurious goodies were displayed on the actress’s dining table, with beautiful gold candles flickering amongst the mix of leaves and glass tableware.
Cheerly delighted with her new décor, wrote on: "This is our very first Christmas in our new house! We are very excited! Whilst we still have some work to do, I was so thrilled that I could still make our home look simple, classic but very beautiful for the festive season with all things @johnlewis…
"It has made making our house feel very magical and Christmassy with a lot less stress."
Fans of Martine’s were quick to compliment her charming new home.
One commented: ‘Looks amazing, [email protected] have the best first Xmas in your home. What colour is in your walls please, love it '
Others were also keen to praise Martine’s dress sense, with another writing: ‘Absolutely stunning Martine, l love white decorations so classy, and speaking of classy what a dress…’.
Martine moved to her nearly home in June, and has been sharing the home improvements with her 545,000 followers on social media.
However, the festive season will be a bittersweet time for Martine, 46, as last month she announced the tragic passing of her brother Laurence John – who was just 31 at the time.
At the time of his passing, the actress described her brother as her ‘anchor’ and her ‘radar’before adding:
‘With unwavering love, support and a commitment to himself, he took hold of life with both hands and smashed through any expectation we had of him.’
‘Im scared to live without you LJ but I know you will want us to truly live, laugh and love in your memory. I will try I promise.'
