Matt Baker, 43, was sent supportive messages from his family as he shared some exciting news this week. The Countryfile star explained his fly on the wall series Our Farm in the Dales was airing on Channel 4.

In a post announcing the news, Matt also teased some exciting news was on its way.

Posting in view of his 278,000 followers, Matt shared a short video.

In this, he could be seen showing some new arrivals at the farm, two young chicks.

He said: “Hi all, I’m just taking a little break from the Olympics and look what’s hatched while I’ve been away.

“These are Seramas, the oldest chickens in the world.”

He continued in the video on Saturday: “But I just thought I’d let you know that tonight on Channel 4 at 7pm Our Farm in the Dales starts, the first series is going to be shown.”

Alongside the video, Matt penned: “Tonight we Make our Channel 4 debut! The first series of Our Farm In The Dales starts on Channel 4 at 7pm!

“Thankyou all once again for the support you showed us as a family we may even have some news for those of you who enjoyed the first series very soon …. ” (sic)

Matt tagged his wife Nicola Baker as well as his mother Janice in the post.

He completed his post with the tags #farm #farmlife #countrylife #hopeyoucanjoinus.

Among those responding to his post was his wife Nicola who waded in with her thoughts.

Referencing the cute chickens, she replied: “We called them Tokyo and Roly.

“They’re big fans of the Olympics! (especially the gymnastics).”

Matt and Nicola appeared in the show together along with their two children.

The documentary series which aired earlier this year followed them as they moved to back to Matt’s family farm.

This was after his mother suffered an injury and needed help adapting the farm to her new needs.

Matt hasn’t yet explained what the “news” will be but many may be hoping a second series of his farm show could be on its way.

Replying to his post, one fan wrote: “Loved it, series 2 please.”

A second added: “So good to hear that you might have some good news!

“Would be good to watch a second series!”

“I hope the news is a second series!” penned another viewer.

While a fourth replied: “Fingers crossed for series 2, we love you guys.”
