Mrs Hinch hits back after her kids’ Halloween costumes are called ‘embarrassing’
Mrs Hinch called out a fan who sent her a message branding her kids' Halloween costumes "embarrassing".
The social media influencer – whose real name is Sophie Hinchcliffe – received the less-than-kind message after posting a photo of children Ronnie, four, and Lennie, two, dressed-up as a pig and a wolf.
Eldest son Ronnie had picked a pig hat with a scarf attached, and a pink top and gloves to match. His little brother Lennie opted for a wolf costume, with a grey furry hat, trousers, gloves and furry scarf.
"This is Halloween for us," she wrote on the post. "As long as they’re happy, wearing whatever it is they want to wear… Happy Halloween everyone love from our big bad wolf and Percy pig xxxxx".
While many of Mrs Hinch's fans were delighted with their choices – including best pal Stacey Solomon, who said the boys looked "amazing" – the influencer later revealed she'd received a hurtful message from another follower.
"A wolf and a pig," the person wrote, followed by two laughing emojis. "Hardly Halloween costumes are they. How embarrassing."
Reposting the message to her stories, the 33-year-old clapped back in response to the hurtful message.
"Really, like really," she said in a reel featuring her favourite hair-in-rollers filter. "What is the need of that? Like, does it matter? They are kids. They are kids."
She continued: "And I'm not one to make my kids dress up anyway if they don't want to and I've said 'you can pick what you want to be and if my kids have picked a wolf and pig they can be a wolf and a pig. Do you know what I mean? Does it honestly matter!! All the best."
Many of her 4.7million followers on her page came out in support of her words, with one saying it was "better for the kids to be happy in what they are wearing than putting them in something they don’t want to wear".
Another added: "The actual cutest costumes! Forget what anyone else says Halloween is about dressing up and eating lots of sweeties!"
The spooky holiday came a few days after the cleaning sensation celebrated another special family occasion – her husband Jamie's birthday.
The couple have been married for five years and she used the occasion to share a series of throwback photos from their time together, including a gorgeous photo from their August 2018 wedding at Gosfield Hall in Essex.
"They say 'the best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone you love' It’s so true," she wrote on the heartfelt post.
