Anna Richardson defends Naked Attraction on Gabby Logan’s podcast
Anna Richardson has hit back at critics who have said that the show Naked Attraction is “pornographic”. The journalist and producer spoke to Gabby Logan on her latest podcast episode, The Mid Point, about sex education.
Naked Attraction is a Channel 4 dating series where applicants pick potential partners based on their birthday suits before going on a date. The show first aired in 2016 and is fronted by Anna.
Speaking to Gabby, the 53-year-old stated that the next generation has a “very dysfunctional view of healthy sex and relationships”. She added that more work needs to be done about having honest conversations about sex.
“The difference between Naked Attraction – and I will defend it to the hilt, because there’s nothing pornographic about Naked Attraction,” Anna claimed. “There’s nothing sexy about it, there’s nothing pornographic.
“It’s funny – number one – it’s a game – number two – but when you go below both of those layers it’s actually about acceptance and education. I’m very proud of the fact that we reveal nakedness in all its forms. You never see a sea of perfect bodies, we reflect perfectly, normal, average bodies and we talk about the differences in those bodies […]

“We’ve had people with disabilities, trans people going through their journey, we’ve had people who are HIV positive – you know its a whole reflection of society.”
Anna, 53, also admitted that she’d never watched a single episode of Love Island. She says that she finds the show “troubling” in terms of educating younger people.
Throughout her television career, Anna is known for her no-nonsense approach to sex and relationships. She has hosted series such as The Sex Education Show and How Not To Get Old.

Anna has also presented the Channel 4 show, Sex in Lockdown, which explored how sex has altered in Britain since the coronavirus pandemic. Earlier this year, she fronted Channel 4’s Naked Education with Yinka Bokinni and Dr Alex George.
When she isn’t hosting TV shows, Anna spends her time working as a “mental health warrior” for the charity, MindBox. She was in an 18-year relationship with TV director Charles Martin, and dated comedian Sue Perkins for seven years from 2014 before splitting.
