Only Fools And Horses star Nicholas Lyndhurst achieves newfound success in America as he’s deemed ‘best actor ever’ by Fraser co-star Kelsey Grammer
Nicholas Lyndhurst recently made his return to the small screen for the reboot of popular comedy series Frasier just years after the death of his son.
Yet it seems the series has led to a whole newfound success for the 62-year-old who has finally made it big in America.
The Only Fools And Horses icon has become the breakout star of the new Frasier show, and it’s not just the fans he’s been impressing.
Kelsey Grammer, 68, who has played Dr Frasier Cane for nearly 40 years, is overjoyed to have Nicholas on board and even gave the star the accolade of the best actor he’s ever worked with.
Speaking with Deadline he revealed: ‘Nick Lyndhurst. He’s stealth warfare. He’s the sneakiest most talented actor I’ve ever worked with.’

Nicholas plays Frasier’s best friend Alan Cornwall in the reboot of the famous US sitcom and already there are talks of a second season.
The pair previously worked together back in 2019 in the London West End musical Man of La Mancha and from there their friendship blossomed.
He revealed that when they decided Frasier was going to have a best friend join the cast, Nicholas came to mind immediately.
‘I asked him when we were back in England if he’d like to be in the new Frasier.
‘He said, “Are you kidding? I would do anything to work with you again every day for the rest of my life.” The feeling is mutual.’
Nicholas’ appearance on the show comes after a difficult few years for the actor who lost his 19-year-old son Archie in 2020 following a brain haemorrhage.
It was claimed at the time that he was considering retiring from acting following the tragic loss but this was denied by the actor’s camp who insisted the idea was ‘ridiculous’.
And Kelsey is confident this won’t be all we see of Frasier and Alan as he revealed they have over 100 episodes written in the hope of future series’.

Alan has become a main character in the Frasier reboot, while gone are Frasier’s brother Niles and his wife Daphne, as well as his father Martin, who recently passed away (actor John Mahoney died in 2018).
Instead, Frasier finds himself in Boston, back where it all started with Cheers.
His career as a radio and TV shrink is behind him and he’s teaching at Harvard University.
And just as Frasier struggled to relate to his father in the original show, the new series sees him attempt to bond with his son Freddy.
He’s helped, and often hindered, in his quest by his old Oxford chum Alan, now a professor at Harvard.
Apathetic and lazy, he couldn’t differ more from his uptight friend, yet the two share a bond.
Speaking about his role previously, Nicholas said: ‘I would say that Frasier hasn’t had a true friend before.
‘But sometimes you have a friend where you can just sit in silence for hours. You don’t have to say anything. I think Alan is that to Frasier.’
