Palace insiders cry about Prince Harry’s ‘not helpful’ Armchair Expert interview

Prince Harry’s Armchair Expert podcast blindsided the palace, you guys. I mean, the interview surprised everyone, because we didn’t know it was coming, we hadn’t emotionally prepared ourselves, and Harry spoke in greater depth about his life and his mental health than we’ve ever heard before. Did Harry make a few “swipes” at the Windsors? For sure. I still say one of the most damning things to come out of Harry’s mouth, ever, in history, is this: “I’ve seen behind the curtain, I’ve seen the business model and seen how this whole thing works. I don’t want to be part of this.” That is a grown-ass man saying that he wants no f–king part of the Windsor family business because the business is bullsh-t. So yes, he blindsided the palace and all of these courtiers can’t just sit there and be self-reflective about anything. No, they have to make a point of “not commenting” on the record (neither Buckingham Palace nor Clarence House have officially responded), but of course “palace insiders” will still bitch about Harry to the Daily Mail:

Palace insiders have hit back at Prince Harry’s ‘unhelpful’ podcast swipe at his father for ‘treating me the way he was treated’ and inflicting ‘genetic pain and suffering’ before he fled to Los Angeles.

Neither Buckingham Palace nor Clarence House were commenting last night but it is clear they feel frustrated the Duke is continuing to talk publicly about deeply personal family relationships.

A source said: ‘They appear to be making careers of talking about their previous ones. It is not helpful.’ Insiders also noted ‘nothing ever appears to be their own fault’.

Prince Harry blasted Prince Charles’ parenting as he poured his heart out to a US mental health podcast and said he moved to California with his family to ‘break the cycle’ of ‘pain’ he suffered as a member of the Royal Family.

The show promoted his Apple TV+ mental health series with Oprah Winfrey, The Me You Can’t See, which premieres next Friday – and it was also promoted in a tweet by Dax.

Did palace insiders listen to the pod? Did Prince Charles? Because he wasn’t actually saying “none of this is my fault, it’s all on my family.” At no point did he say anything like that or suggest that. In fact, he spoke about how he wasn’t assigning blame for the generational trauma of the Windsors, and he took responsibility for his own sh-t and his own behavior and his own mental health throughout. It sounds like Harry keeps on taking ownership for his part in everything that happened, including his family’s exit from the UK, and that ruins so many of the palace talking points, which are racist and misogynistic. Also, “THEY appear” and “their.” Why is Meghan in this? Meghan is minding her business in Montecito. The continuous desperation to rope Meghan into Harry’s decisions and his press is really tired.

The Mail also made several remarks and references to Harry’s “American twang.” These people, my God. They’re going to cry so much when Harry becomes an American citizen.
