Piers Morgan has fuelled speculation about his next career move after the broadcaster stepped down from his role on ITV’s Good Morning Britain. The columnist has since spoken out about an opportunity presented to him by Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, after the pair were approached by his colleague Lorraine Kelly.
The 56-year-old revealed that Lorraine has been urging Ant and Dec to sign him up to I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.
Piers has since made it clear that there is no way that he will be putting himself forward to be “humiliated” on national television.
Writing in his latest column, the ITV host declined the cheeky duo’s offer as he shut down the idea.
The journalist branded the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here camp as “hellish” and likened it to “prison”.
Piers wrote: “Lorraine Kelly has urged Ant and Dec to sign me up for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, saying: ‘I think he’d be absolutely amazing in there!’”
He continued: “‘Well, he’s not working at the moment, so he’ll be looking for a job,’ scoffed Ant, as Dec cackled like a slathering hyena at the thought of luring me into their hellish jungle prison camp.
“Let me make one thing crystal clear: there’s no way I’m ever exposing myself to a series of ghastly gastronomic humiliations for the delectation of the British public.
“When I munch kangaroo testicles, I do so in the privacy of my home.”
Piers previously suggested he would be willing to take part in the Bushtucker trials and sign up to I’m A Celeb so long as the bosses agree to pay him a hefty sum of £10million.
In response to a fan on Twitter earlier this year, they quizzed: “What would it take for you to go on to I’m A Celeb? Because I would love to see you go on.”
Informing his seven million followers, the columnist bluntly replied: “£10million.”
Earlier this week, talk of Piers’ next career move was a topic of discussion on Lorraine’s ITV show.

While chatting to double act Ant and Dec, the Scottish presenter urged the pair to get the former GMB host on board.
Lorraine said: “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! will be looming very, very soon and of course all the rumours are just starting.
“You have always said you guys want Piers Morgan to go in there. Is that still the case?”
Ant said: “He’s not working at the moment, so you know, he’ll be looking for a job.”
Lorraine replied: “He’s got a bit of time on his hands, who knows.”
The veteran broadcaster has also hinted that Piers could make a return to GMB in the near future.
Speaking to The Sun, Lorraine said: “I know nothing, but never count him out of anything.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back. Nothing would surprise me about Piers.”
