Prince Harry made a sweet gesture of support for his wife Meghan Markle on Monday, as he squeezed her hand tightly while leaving his grandmother The Queen’s funeral service.
According to a fellow funeral goer who had attended the service, Harry was seen giving Meghan’s hand a “firm squeeze” in a heartfelt show of solidarity on the emotional occasion.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from royal life last year, when they made the decision to move to the United States to build a new life for their growing family, which now includes son Archie, and daughter Lilibet.
But on Tuesday, just one day on from the historic state funeral of Harry’s beloved Grandmother The Queen, the couple are still believed to be in Windsor as they reflect privately on their grief.
One fellow mourner who attended the ceremony on Monday, has spoken out about the couple’s behaviour at the funeral, as they applauded Harry for his sweet gesture, to make sure Meghan was “comfortable” in the situation.
According to funeral guest and attorney Pranav Bhanot, there was no mistaking “how supportive Harry was to Meghan”, telling People: “When they went their separate directions after the ceremony, he gave her a firm squeeze of the hand. I felt he wanted to ensure she felt comfortable.”

The couple have been well known to take comfort from each other by holding hands, and were frequently pictured with their fingers intertwined on multiple occasions during their time as working royals.
This comfort still endures now, with the couple eager to offer that small show of compassion to each other, including as they held hands while entering the service together on Monday.
Pravnav also went on to describe the Duke offering the Duchess “reassurance” when they were walking together, before Harry was needed elsewhere.
The loving gesture is just the latest in a long line of small but heartfelt actions which have helped the couple to put on a united front at large scale events that could prove to be nerve-racking or emotional, including at events such as the Invictus games in the past.
Both Harry and Meghan appeared to be particularly emotional on Monday as they bid a final farewell to The Queen in three distinct services before her burial.
Wiping back tears, both Harry and Meghan could be seen wrestling with their emotions as they processed the finality of the day, before taking comfort in the presence of each other as they clutched tightly at each other’s hands.
The Queen was buried alongside her husband, Prince Philip, and her parents and sister on Monday evening at a private ceremony in Windsor.
