Russell Brand ‘followed me down the street’ in ‘horrible’ ordeal, model claims

Russell Brand allegedly left a woman feeling “totally unsafe” after they met at a party in 2005, when the comedian was presenting Big Brother’s Big Mouth on Channel 4.

The woman, who is a former model, discussed her claim with The Sun after allegations of sexual assault against Brand, dating back to 2003, aired on Channel 4’s Dispatches.

The actor and TV personality has vehemently denied all allegations.

Speaking to the publication, the unnamed woman alleged she started running when Brand would not take “no” for an answer and “followed her down the street”.

The woman claims she was in her 20s when she met Brand in the bar below a restaurant in Primrose Hill north of Regent’s Park in London.

She told the publication that Brand had “made a beeline for me” at the party, but “I’d made it clear I wasn’t interested”.

The woman claimed: “It was summertime so I was happy to walk. But as I left, I noticed he started to follow me.

“That’s when it got creepy. He was walking about five paces behind me. He was slurring his words and saying things along the lines of, ‘Let’s go and f***’. “I told him I wasn’t interested and he said, ‘Let’s just f*** right here’.”

She continued to allege: “It was just stomach-churning. I’m 5ft 10in so I’m not small, but he was quite a big guy and it was one of the few times I was really scared.

“I definitely felt that in his head this was all a bit of fun, but it wasn’t. I was so rattled by it that I started to run. I ran as fast as I could to get away from him.

“He crossed the line completely and made me feel totally unsafe.”

Express.co.uk has contacted representatives for Brand for comment on the new allegations.

She told the publication that she is now readying herself to speak to police about the alleged incident, after they urged complainants to come forward in the wake of allegations made against Brand.

“I haven’t really thought about this for years but since these allegations have come to light I’ve been unable to sleep,” she added.

The Metropolitan Police had initially said of the accusations: “We are aware of media reporting of a series of allegations of sexual assault. At this time, we have not received any reports in relation to this.

“If anyone believes they have been the victim of a sexual assault, no matter how long ago it happened, we would encourage them to contact police.

“We spoke with The Sunday Times on Saturday 16 September. We will be making further approaches to The Sunday Times and Channel 4 to ensure that any victims of crime who they have spoken with are aware of how they may report any criminal allegations to police.”

The police has since announced they had received an allegation dating back to 2003, following the documentary, which aired on Saturday night.

Ahead of Channel 4’s Dispatches documentary release, based on the accusations made by four women against him, Russell released a lengthy YouTube video in which he denied any wrongdoing.

Referencing his “promiscuous” behaviour at the height of his fame, the comedian said: “Now during that time of promiscuity the relationships I had were absolutely always consensual. I was always transparent about that then, almost too transparent, and I am being transparent about it now as well.

“To see that transparency metastasised into something criminal, that I absolutely deny, makes me question: is there another agenda at play?”

Brand claimed the “very serious allegations” have come amid “a litany of astonishing, rather baroque attacks”.

He also claimed the allegations were a “coordinated attack” and an “agenda to control his voice” after being characterised as a “conspiracy theorist”.
