Alex Scott is currently single and isn’t in a rush to find a partner. The 36-year-old has discussed the stigma of having no children at her age and how her friends have encouraged her to freeze her eggs.
Addressing her thoughts on the procedure, she said: “It’s still something I go back and forth with.
“Sometimes, my friends put pressure on me, ‘Alex, you’re not getting any younger, you need to do this.’
“But right now, I’m loving life – so why add pressure on myself because other people are saying it’s time now to freeze your eggs?”
The former footballer wants to put an end to stigmas surrounding single women and going to therapy.
Alex Scott says Dan Walker 'helped her career development'
Alex sought professional help after suffering with her mental health, which stemmed from being trolled online.
The ex Arsenal player said she was “in a dark place” and felt “lonely” during that period of time and decided to go to therapy.
Years later, Alex is still attending regular sessions and says she will never stop.
On how it helped her put herself first, she added to Women’s Health Magazine: “Therapy’s helping me, so why am I not going to talk about it [freezing her eggs]?
“With a woman’s decision to get her eggs frozen – you do it for you, forward- planning, why be ashamed of that?
“It’s [about] taking away those stigmas that other people put on you.
“I get that all the time, ‘Why are you single?’ Like, sorry, do I have to be with someone?! [laughs].”
The former Strictly star added she enjoyed her own company and spending time with friends on her days off.

Alex has previously said she is unlucky when it comes to dating, but isn’t in a rush to find somebody.
Back in 2019, she took part on Strictly Come Dancing with professional partner Neil Jones, who was newly single at the time.
At the time, reports suggested they could be more than friends, however the dancing duo denied this.
She said: “It’s great that everyone can see how well me and Neil get on, and that we do have this great partnership and it’s not just for TV.
“But we’re not thinking anything about that. We’re together all the time training, and we’re so immersed in Strictly and doing everything for the show, so that stuff hasn’t even entered our thoughts.”
Last year, she discussed going on a date with Coronation Street star Sam Robertson.
She spilled: “I never seem to have a lot of luck on dates.
“My one date in ages was going out with Sam [Robertson], who is lovely.
“The next morning, our pictures were all over the press because someone in the restaurant had taken a photo.
“It wasn’t exactly a great start!”
