Stacey Solomon appears to have a mini-me crafter on her hands in the form of her son Rex, but the presenter also tells us that the three year old has a “questionable” attention span.
Speaking exclusively to OK! ahead of her Crafty Christmas show airing on the BBC, Stacey opened up about her young son’s love of crafting.
“Me and Rex made marbled baubles by dipping them in old nail varnishes in a bowl of water, which was really cool and easy,” Stacey told us of her favourite thing to make with her young family.
“He loves messy play, so it kept him occupied for an hour. He’s three and his attention span is questionable but he loved it!”
Stacey is also mum to daughter Rose, one, with her husband Joe Swash, as well as sons Leighton, 10, and Zachary, 14, from two previous relationships. While Joe is also dad to son Harry, 14, from a previous relationship.
This Christmas will mark Stacey and actor Joe’s first as a married couple following their summer wedding, and the Loose Women star says she’s very much looking forward to spending some quality time with her brood.
She says of the family’s plans: “Lots more crafting, of course – I’m yet to make my Christmas door! But I’m most looking forward to spending time with Joe and the kids.
“It’s been a busy year, so I’m excited to wind down and just do nothing.”
Stacey’s annual Christmas door is a sight to behold, with the star unveiling a stunning display at her home Pickle Cottage last year.
The display featured gorgeous winter objects and an amazing foliage archway, while there were also warm twinkling lights woven into the branches and a life-size fake reindeer standing to the side.
The 33 year old shared a series of sweet snaps of the scene on her Instagram with her family posing in the doorway.
As for what she loves about crafting, mum-of-four Stacey says it’s activity’s ability to take her mind off things and allow her to chill out.
She adds: “It’s something I can really lose myself in. Life for lots of us is really fast and busy, and when I craft my mind has to focus on the task at hand.
“You can have all these thoughts running around in your head but you have to push them aside to focus on the thing in front of you. It’s so relaxing.”
