Strictly’s Adam Thomas and Luba Mushtuk slammed by Brendan Cole
Adam Thomas’ Strictly rehearsal watched by fellow dancers to help conquer his nerves
Brendan Cole has slammed Strictly contestant Adam Thomas and his dance partner Luba Mushtuk.
Brendan, who won the show’s first series with newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky, gave the couple a scathing review describing their latest performance as a “nothing number”, not worthy of being on the show.
Sharing his assessment of Saturday’s performances, Brendan, who also had sharp words for other competing couples said: “[Contestants] Annabell [Croft] and Johannes [Radebe] and Zara [McDermott] and Graziano [Di Prima] days are numbered.
“I’m surprised either couple has lasted this long. Also, Adam and Luba, I don’t know what their number was, but I don’t see it belonging on Strictly.
He added to Sky Bingo: “To me it was a nothing number and I didn’t want to watch it.”

On Saturday, Adam, 35, looked emotional as the judges heaped praise on him after he and Luba performed their Couple’s Choice to Backstreet Boys Medley.
However, after the pair received a total score from the judges of 32 points, many fans took to social media to accuse the judges of over-scoring. Echoing the sentiments of Brendan, many were also left unimpressed by the routine.
One wrote: “They definitely overscored Adam. No way that deserved a 32.” Another said: “Adam was WAY overscored #Strictly.” A third added: “No way in hell did Adam just score the same as Bobby. Bobby was under marked my oh my.'” (sic)
While a fourth commented: “I like Adam, but how did that score the same as Bobby and Dianne’s Viennese Waltz, despite the difference in their comments?”
Brendan has also expressed his fears that Strictly contestant Angela Rippon’s lack of fast-paced routines in the competition so far means “she’s not going to get better”.

“There’s a certain freedom that comes within the Latin numbers that you can really exploit in Strictly and I don’t know that we’ve seen that from her [Angela] yet,” he said.
“If it doesn’t come soon, she’s not going to get better. Having said that she’s already really, really good and she’s embracing what Strictly is and I think that’s magnificent.”
He added: “I don’t think we’ve seen many contestants like her in terms of that so far. This was the first time since the show started, I thought ‘Crikey, I mean, give her the glitter ball’, she’s really, really good for her age and for her demographic.
“All credit to her and Kai and production actually for being able to create those magical moments. Whether they can keep doing it for another seven or eight weeks? Time will tell.”
The legendary newsreader and Kai danced the Argentine Tango to Tanguera by Sexteto Mayor on Saturday night, to high praise from the judges.
