Usher confirmed as headliner for the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime show
Usher is having a banner year – his Las Vegas residency is THE hot residency ticket of the year, with celebrities of all varieties making their way to the Park MGM for the show. Usher is so powerful that he broke up Keke Palmer’s situationship by just dancing with her. And now, something which should have happened long ago: Usher will headline the Super Bowl Halftime show. He’s been “the guest star” of a Halftime show before, but he’s never headlined.
Grammy-winning superstar Usher is set to headline the 2024 Apple Music Super Bowl LVIII halftime show. The NFL, Roc Nation and Apple Music made the announcement on Sunday. The big game will take place on Feb. 11, 2024, at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, just outside of Las Vegas. It will air live on CBS.
“It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before,” Usher said in a statement. “Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.”
This will mark Usher’s second Super Bowl appearance. He performed — and saved the day — alongside the Black Eyed Peas when the pop group headlined the game in 2011.
Jay-Z and his Roc Nation company are returning to produce the halftime show for the fifth year. The rap icon won an Emmy alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent and Kendrick Lamar for 2022’s epic, hip-hop heavy halftime performance. This year’s halftime show starring Rihanna, who revealed her baby bump during the explosive performance, is nominated for five Emmys. Jay-Z is nominated for two, including a historic one for outstanding directing for a variety special, which he shares with Hamish Hamilton.

You know what it means that Usher is the sole headliner and Jay-Z is producing the show, right? It means that it’s very possible that we get Beyonce again at a Halftime show!! The last time she came out for the Halftime show, she broke white folks’ brains with her Black Panther ensemble. She was the best part of Coldplay’s headlining gig that year though. Anyway, I’ll watch Usher solo, but I do feel like he’ll get some fun people to drop in. Please not Justin Bieber.
Usher also agreed to this very silly thing – new footage of Kim Kardashian spliced with his video for “Confessions.”
