Adam Driver Is Enzo Ferrari: Stream the Trailer for Michael Mann's 'Ferrari'
Michael Mann has tapped quite the cast to adapt Brock Yates’ book Enzo Ferrari: The Man, The Cars, The Races, The Machine for the big screen. In the first official trailer for Mann’s Ferrari, which comes just a day before the film premieres at this weekend’s Venice Film Festival Adam Driver delivers a convincing performance as Enzo Ferrari.
The film follows Ferrari, an ex- Formula 1 racer, throughout the summer of 1957 as he balances his struggling automotive career with his personal life. Ferrari handles his unpredictable family happenings – the death of his son, Dino, as well as the failing marriage with his wife – all the while working to bring business back to the once-booming, now bankruptcy-ridden car business.
In NEON’s first trailer for the film, clocking in at a minute and a half, a captivating sequence of Driver speeding across scenic Italy remains at the forefront, complemented by key biographical clips intermingled throughout. Penelope Cruz stars as Ferrari’s wife Laura Ferrari, and Shailene Woodley plays his mistress Lina Lardi. Patrick Dempsey appears as fellow racecar driver Piero Taruffi, Jack O’Connell as driver Peter Collins, Sarah Gadon as Linda Christian and Gabriel Leone as driver Alfonso de Portago.
Ferrari is set to hit theaters later this year, making its debut on December 25. Check out the action-packed yet nearly void-of-dialogue trailer for Ferrari in the gallery above.
