Baby Keem's 'The Melodic Blue' Gets the Full-Fledged Visual Treatment

Baby Keem‘s first studio album, The Melodic Blue, which came as a follow-up to his Die For My B*tch and The Sound of Bad Habit mixtapes, cemented the rapper’s spot in today’s hip-hop scene, garnering critical acclaim from big-name artists and publications. After teasing the 2021 album’s visual component at Tyler, The Creator‘s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival earlier this month, Keem has now unveiled the official trailer for Prime Video’s The Melodic Blue.

Written by his older cousin Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free‘s pgLang, the film stars Amandla Stenberg, Shakira Ja’nai Paye, Francis Lovehall, Séréna Sy, and Keem himself. Savannah Setten, who previously directed Keem’s “No Sense” music video, is also the mastermind behind The Melodic Blue‘s visuals.

As the official logline states: “Keem’s internal battle leads us through fragments of memory and temptation as he navigates the depths of The Melodic Blue.”  See the official cover art below.

“I need you to tell me about The Melodic Blue,” Stenberg opens. “Keem has not been the same since he went down there,” Paye replies.  “It’s a place where all human sensitivities are heightened. You feel more. You touch more. You taste more. Lust feels like love.”

“I want to go there,” an offscreen voice narrates. “Inside your mind.” Stream the full trailer in the gallery above.

The Melodic Blue lands globally on Prime Video on December 5.
