CDG Enlists yamaichi for New Capsule

COMME des GARÇONS’ diffusion line CDG has revealed a new collaboration with Ichiro Yamaguchi’s “yamaichi” project.

Entitled “CDG YI,” the collaboration is cloaked in black and aptly channels Yamaguchi’s experience and style. As the frontman of Sakanaction since 2007, Yamaguchi has been involved in both musical endeavors and collaborating with a range of creatives – mixing music and culture. By teaming up with CDG, Yamaguchi wanted to channel “COMME des GARÇONS black classic style,” which is a fixture in his wardrobe.

As such, the nine-item capsule collection casts the CDG logo in a new style while centering the edge elegance of black clothing – all while bridging the spaces of music and fashion. Utilizing lightweight polyester and cotton fabrics, the capsule is comprised of a relaxed multi-pocket blazer, crinkled cropped pants, a speckled button-down shirt, an all-over collab logo button-down shirt, a crewneck sweatshirt, a hoodie, a long sleeve T-shirt and a short sleeve T-shirt.

Although still crafted in black like previous efforts, the new capsule extends CDG’s arsenal of collaborative projects. Take a look at the offering in the gallery above. The new “CDG YI” collaborative capsule is set to release in-store and online on Saturday, September 23.
