Heron Preston and Zellerfeld Return With 3D-Printed HERON01 Shoe in "Black"
In the next addition of their fast-selling collaboration, Heron Preston and Zellerfeld have returned with an all-new 3D-printed footwear model, the HERON01 Black.
This latest design comes with significant material innovation, utilizing Zellerfeld’s new ZellerFOAM, a proprietary invention that offers smooth surface finishes, super-foam “squishiness,” and knit-like softness. Additionally, the sneaker was crafted using the TextureMap printing capability, which is capable of printing mixed textures to more-precisely execute the brands’ desired lines and patterns.
The design itself features a streamlined collar for ease of entry, as well as an enhanced midsole shape and ample arch support. In addition to ZellerFOAM, the upper’s multi-textural finish includes Zellerfeld’s established ZellerMESH textile, opting for a more-realistic contrast in the various materials and setting a higher standard for 3D-printed footwear.
“Working with Zellerfeld has been incredibly inspiring, seeing how far the partnership has grown since the beginning,” said Preston in a statement. “I’m excited to continue to create with the team as we explore and develop innovative ways to further advance footwear design.”
Heron Preston and Zellerfeld’s HERON01 Black sneaker will launch exclusively on Zellerfeld and L.E.D. Studio’s webstores on December 11 at 12 p.m. ET. Take a closer look at the design in the gallery above.
