IWC Adds Two New Models to Its TOP GUN Collection

IWC, the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer, has announced an expansion of its TOP GUN collection, “Colors of TOP GUN,” with two colored ceramic models co-developed with Pantone. The latest additions include a Pilot’s Watch Timezoner and a Pilot’s Watch Chronograph, both of which emphasize the brand’s superior skill in crafting colored ceramic watches.

The debut of the Pilot’s Watch Timezoner TOP GUN Woodland is notable for IWC, as it’s the first Timezoner encased in colored ceramic, showcasing a dark green ceramic case with a Ceratanium case ring and crown. This timepiece, inspired by the uniforms and expansive forest landscapes associated with the TOPGUN flight school, is engineered for effortless transition between time zones. The patented Timezoner function enables wearers to switch time zones simply by pressing and turning the rotating bezel.

On the other hand, the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 TOP GUN Mojave Desert is the brand’s pioneer 41-millimeter Pilot’s Chronograph, encased in a sand-colored ceramic. The Mojave Desert hue, inspired by the desert surroundings of China Lake and the flight suits of naval aviators, complements its dark brown dial, rubber strap, and luminescent material. This model encapsulates the robust 69380 caliber chronograph movement, enhancing its utility for the wearer.

The use of colored ceramics in its watches is not new for IWC, in fact, it helped to usher in the use of such materials, having used them as early as 1986 when it introduced the material in its Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Chronograph. Fast forward to the present time, the evolution of the “Colors of TOP GUN” collection reiterates IWC’s commitment to exploring this material.

Both timepieces are available now via IWC’s official site, with the Pilot’s Watch Timezoner TOP GUN Woodland priced at just over $20,000 USD and the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 TOP GUN Mojave Desert at $13,350 USD.

Elsewhere in watches, Leonardo DiCaprio invests in independent watch brand, ID Genève.
