Jay Electronica Teases First Album Since 2020

Jay Electronica‘s third studio album could be on the way.

The artist took to social media to tease a record possibly titled Bismillah Boys, sharing a short video with the caption “ALBUM TIME.” Electronica also tagged more than 100 prominent figures in music, entertainment and sports, including but not limited to Erykah Badu, Juicy J, Kyrie Irving, Lil Yachty, Beyoncé, Hit-Boy, DJ Premier, The Alchemist and Killer Mike. He also included the hashtags “Bismillah” and “Bismillah Boys,” although it remains unclear whether all these figures are involved in the creation of the album and when the project will release.

The artist’s debut and sophomore albums, A Written Testimony and Act II: The Patents of Nobility (The Turn), both dropped in 2020 — 13 years after releasing his breakout mixtape Act I: Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge). Electronica has remained quiet about his solo projects since then, but has made special appearances on ye’s Donda and, more recently, Noname’s Sundial and Swizz Beatz’s Hip Hop 50: Vol. 2.
