Lanvin Signs Chinese Actor Cheng Yi as Global Brand Ambassador
Lanvin has named its newest global brand ambassador: Chinese actor Cheng Yi.
The French fashion brand has worked with Yi on numerous occasions over the last several years. The 33-year-old actor most recently attended the brand’s Fall/Winter 2023 ready-to-wear show in Paris, where he sat front row alongside Stefon Diggs, Avril Lavigne, Halsey, Saint Jhn and others.
“Cheng Yi is a star of China’s bustling entertainment industry. He is part of a new generation of actors that are redefining contemporary Chinese culture on a global stage,” Lanvin said. “With an appreciation for the elegance and contemporary energy of the new Lanvin, Yi is a natural addition to the developing universe of the Maison.”
Yi made his acting debut on the television series Beauty World, which was released in 2011. He later starred in series including Noble Aspirations, Love and Redemption and Immortal Samsara, as well as films such as Haunting Love, Impossible and Year of the Dog.
The actor joins the house in his global ambassadorship just as Future is slated to debut his ready-to-wear collection as the House’s first guest creative director. Future took on the temporary role, after Lanvin’s former creative director Bruno Sialelli, who had been with the brand for four years, exited the label.
