This week, September fashion month is still underway with the ending of London Fashion Week and the beginning of Milan Fashion Week for the Spring/Summer 2024 season. But aside from the catwalk, there were a number of other special fashion moments this week ranging from theft to a new exhibition and more.
Leading the charge is London Fashion Week, which officially came to a close on September 19. Following on its heels is Milan Fashion Week, which began on the same day.
Elsewhere, over 50 Balmain pieces were stolen ahead of its Paris Fashion Week show; Simone Rocha was announced as Jean Paul Gaultier’s next guest designer; Swarovski opened its new Masters of Light exhibition and RIMOWA and Tiffany & Co. joined forces for a special collaboration.

London Fashion Week Ends on a High Note

Rounding out on Tuesday, September 19, London Fashion Week came back with a vengeance for the SS24 season. Yes, London Fashion Week has always been a fixture on the fashion calendar, but with anything, excitement and success therein ebbs and flows. But this time around, LFW packed a punch – leaving onlookers anxious for pieces to hit the web and stores next year.
This year’s calendar included headliners like Burberry, JW Anderson and Simone Rocha, which a blue-filled city takeover, clay clothes and a declaration of love. Alongside the aforementioned, LFW also featured the debut of Skepta’s MAINS, Mowalola and exciting collections from newcomers like AARON ESH, Chet Lo, Connor Ives, Di Petsa, FEBEN and many more.

Milan Fashion Week Kicks Into High Gear

Beginning on Tuesday, September 19, Milan Fashion Week continues this month’s roster of anticipated fashion shows and events. Currently still underway, brands like Fendi, Gucci, Prada, Tom Ford, Diesel, MM6 Maison Margiela, Moschino and more others have already shown their collections. From denim-filled techno rave-inspired ensembles to sexy, yet chic silhouettes, the shows thus far illustrated a wide array of eye-catching styles.

Over 50 Balmain Pieces Have Been Stolen Ahead of Paris Fashion Week Show

In an unexpected turn of events, over 50 looks from Balmain’s upcoming Paris Fashion Week have gone missing due to a delivery truck “hijacking.”
Balmain’s creative director Olivier Rousteing noted that the show will take place as planned on September 27 near the Eiffel Tower. The designer also shared that his team is putting in additional hours to redo the pieces and guarantee that the show takes place.
Simone Rocha Is Jean Paul Gaultier’s Next Guest Designer

Irish, London-based designer, Simone Rocha, has been announced as the next guest designer for Jean Paul Gaultier.
As a guest designer, Rocha will join the house for a one-time collection, which will be presented during Paris Couture Week in January. Rocha’s comes behind other guest designers for the brand like Haider Ackermann, Olivier Rousteing, Glenn Martens, Chitose Abe and Julien Dossena.
Swarovski’s ‘Masters of Light’ Exhibition Spotlights 128 Years of Crystal-Covered Couture

Swarovski has revealed its inaugural brand exhibition entitled, Masters of Light, at Shanghai’s Museum of Contemporary Art. The special exhibition takes a look at the brand’s role in fashion and features over 60 crystal-embellished couture pieces from its archive.
Curated by Alexander Fury, the exhibition is divided into seven sections. Moreover, the included pieces span designers like Alexander McQueen, Armani Privé, Balenciaga, Christian Dior, Fendi, Gucci, Guo Pei, Jimmy Choo, Louis Vuitton, Robert Wun, Thierry Mugler and Vivienne Westwood.
Aside from house designs, the exhibition also showcases costumes and red-carpet looks from Rihanna, Harry Styles, Christina Aguilera and Marilyn Monroe. The Masters of Light exhibition is open now through October 9.
RIMOWA Unites With Tiffany & Co. for Special Collaboration

By enlisting Tiffany & Co., the brand takes it up a notch with an offering that’s irrefutably eye-catching. Comprising the collection is the Jewelry Case, Rock Cut Cabin suitcase and the Jewelry Personal. But what makes the pieces pop is the ‘Rock Cut’ artwork exterior design that channels a diamond’s unique structure.
With prices ranging from $2,250 USD to $4,875 USD, the RIMOWA x Tiffany & Co. collection is set to release on September 26 in-store and online at RIMOWA.
