Mum urged to move out of her home after sharing photo of ‘creepy’ door

After moving into a new home, Taylor Anne was working on getting the place just right for her family, but there was one thing that was bothering her.

In her young daughter's room, in the middle of one of the walls was a random wooden door.

The door leads into the roof of the level below and the mum was unsure what to do with it, as it wasn't exactly the prettiest of sights.

So she turned to social media for some advice on how to cover it up or make it look nicer, but she wasn't prepared for the response that she got.

Posting in the Kmart Hacks & Decor group, the woman from Australia wrote: "We have recently moved and in my daughter's room there is this creepy door that leads into the roof of the level below, any ideas on something to cover it and make it look pretty?

"We live in a split level house so the door goes into the roof above our bedroom and kitchen/dining room."

More than 1,300 people taking the time to comment on it, with a number of Facebook users being quick to tell her to leave her home ASAP, as they thought the door sounded like something straight out of a horror movie.

One person replied: "OMG that's so scary I couldn't sleep in there."

Someone else said: "Makes me think about the movie Pan's Labyrinth."

"That’s straight out of something from a horror film!!! I’d lock that room up and runaway," proclaimed a different user.

A fourth commented: "I've watched too many scary movies to be ok living with something like this! Haha."

Others had some more helpful suggestions for the parent, such as painting the door or hanging a mirror over the top of it.

While some ideas were downright creative and included putting a backless wardrobe in front of it and calling it Narnia.

"Just cover it with a nice wall hanging, something easy to move if you need to access the space," suggested another.

A second thought: "Mirror – and secret hideout. Alice Through the Looking Glass style."

"Depending on how old your daughter is, you could make it like a fairy door," added a third.
