Raf Simons' Re-Issued Rave Blanket Cape Lauds His Industry-Shifting AW01 "Riot! Riot! Riot!" Collection

Raf Simons’ Autumn/Winter 2001 “Riot! Riot! Riot!” collection marked a cultural reset for the world of fashion — and today, fans of the line have a new way to pay their respect to the visionary’s path-forging work.

The collection, which saw the Belgian designer return to the runway following a one-year sabbatical, spoke to the era’s counter-cultural youth, with a bevy of rebellious, hyper-stylized ensembles set inside an eerie, glass-covered warehouse. Its techno-dystopic approach, coupled with its chock full of anti-fashion silhouettes, has since played a crucial role in shaping the current archive landscape.

Now, honoring the collection’s immense impact, History of My World has re-issued the Raf Simons Rave Blanket Cape, emblazoned with an iconic print inspired by the “Riot! Riot! Riot!” range on its back. Wrapped in gothic text reading “Antwerp, Belgium,” the circular black-and-white illustration features an anarchic scene on the city’s streets — one that would have inspired the collection’s disruptive codes. In terms of design, the silhouette features a drawstring pouch, a button closure and two front pockets, with an all-black outer shell and a bright orange interior.

The Raf Simons Rave Blanket Cape, which measures 130 cm in length and 176 cm in width, is now available to shop on History of My World’s webstore for $712 USD. The design is limited to just 50 units — so act fast.
