Teezo Touchdown's "Impossible" Music Video Was Shot in One Take
Teezo Touchdown is instantly recognizable due to two key factors: one, his adamant refusal to categorize his music, taking sonic risks that far surpass the constraints of genre, and two, his head full of nails. Hot off Drake‘s For All The Dogs – appearing on “Amen” and providing background vocals for “7969 Santa” – the Texas rapper is pivoting back to his acclaimed debut album, How Do You Sleep At Night?, which he dropped off in early September. In the visuals for “Impossible,” Teezo spotlights the track’s introspective lyricism and, of course, his nails.
“Maybe they were gonna be a painter until somebody said they couldn’t paint / Maybe thought they was the next Jean-Michel ’til somebody yelled, ‘no, you ain’t’,” he opens, delivering the relatable bars directly to the camera. “Maybe they wanted to go to art school but their parents said, ‘Sorry, we can’t’ / Maybe it was a mix of all three of those colors that left the canvas blank.”
“Impossible” marks the first music video release from How Do You Sleep At Night? Directed by Jack Bergert, the whole thing was shot in just one take. As the third verse kicks off, an ominous array of hands surrounding the rapper begins removing the nails from his face. “Who said it’s impossible?” he chants, as blood and a green slime-esque liquid drip down his face, the song coming to a cathartic close.
