WWE's Randy Orton paid someone $1,000 to help him beat Elden Ring
Randy Orton can claim he’s beaten Elden Ring but he didn’t do it all on his own…
It’s not unusual for athletes to be into gaming, as we’ve seen recently Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho play EA Sports FC 24 while his team was getting ready to face Bayern Munich.
Orton apparently likes role-playing games, more specifically FromSoftware’s Elden Ring and its challenging bosses and time-consuming levelling system.
But Orton decided the latter was not something he had time for and so found someone else to do it for him – and they were well paid for their trouble.
During a recent episode of The Insiderz, a show hosted by former WWE wrestlers Brennan Williams and Mansoor Al-Shehail, the duo revealed that Orton had told them he loved Elden Ring, but would rather pay someone to give him runes so he could level up quicker.
‘It’s f***ing hard. I paid a guy $1,000 bucks [£820] to give me infinite runes so I could level up to 100 right away,’ Orton said, according to Al-Shehail.
Williams added that Orton had said, ‘It’s awesome. But no, I couldn’t deal with that bull*** so I just paid a guy to give me a bunch of runes.’
It’s not so easy when you can’t RKO (Orton’s signature move) your opponent to the nether, but he still found a way.
This isn’t the first we’ve heard of his affinity for Elden Ring, in 2022 he tweeted:
‘Eight hours by bus. I’m playing Elden Ring and celebrating myself. I had to take a bathroom break, so I decided to check up on Elon, and first thing I saw was your comment. I felt inclined to respond, so I did. Now I’m going to go back to slaying demi-gods and absorbing their runes.’
Someone naturally asked him what level he was, to which he replied ‘527 lol’. For reference, the maximum level in Elden Ring is 713.
It makes you wonder how much money he’s spent for others to help him level up, or whether he managed to find the time to do it himself after all.
