What is Amazon Prime Day?

If you didn't already know, Amazon Prime Day is an annual shopping event.

Originally it occurred once a year, in July, however during Covid Amazon moved the event to October.

Over the last couple of years the retail giant has decided to host two Prime Day events in a year, with the latter one falling in the month of October.

The event is exclusive to Amazon Prime members and usually features thousands of discounted products across major categories such as appliances, homeware, fashion, beauty and much more.

When will the October Prime Day 2023 take place?

The Prime Big Deal Day is Amazon's second Prime Day event for 2023.

So far Amazon has not revealed the exact date it will take place.

But last year when the retail giant hosted a Prime Day sale in October it took place from 11 to 12, so we're expecting Amazon to choose a similar date this time around too.

Keep your eyes on this page, as we'll be updating with everything you need to know about the sale as it is announced.

How to take part in Amazon Prime Day?

As we mentioned previously, you'll have to be an Amazon Prime member in order to take advantage of the offers.

Along with a host of other benefits that come with Prime, you'll be eligible to shop all of the available deals over Prime Day too.

If you've never had an account before, use the 30-day free trial to get access to the sale.

This means you could sign up for a Prime account the day before the event is due to take place and make the most of the offers and same-day delivery without paying any membership fee.

If you decide you love it after the trial period, you'll have to pay the £8.99 a month fee.

There's also an annual plan, which costs £95 too.

What deals to expect in the Amazon Prime Big Deal Day event?

Bargain-hunters will no doubt have an array of offers to choose from during the Prime Big Deal Day event.

As well as price cuts on huge brand names like Ninja, Shark, Levi's, Crocs, Dyson and more, you'll also be able to find bargains from small businesses and artisan Amazon sellers.

In recent years, standout offers often come from Amazon's own-brand Echo and Fire TV devices which often have big discounts or bundle deal savings.

Elsewhere home appliance discounts remain popular, with air fryers and vacuum cleaners proving popular with consumers.

But with the event falling ahead of the busy festive shopping period, it is also an opportune time to stock up on cheaper toys and gifts for loved ones, as well as Christmas essentials such as decorations.

But the event isn't just about savings on big name tech and electrical brands or items for the home.

Shoppers can also get amazing deals across fashion and beauty lines too, with premium brands such as ghd, Elemis, Levi's and Calvin Klein included in the offers.
