Angus Clouds Cause of Death Revealed: Actor Overdosed on Fentanyl, Cocaine and More
Angus Cloud died from an accidental overdose of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and more, the Alameda County Coroner’s Office confirmed to Variety on Thursday.
His cause of death was an “acute intoxication due to combined effects of methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl and benzodiazepines,” according to the Coroner’s Office.
On July 31 at 11:30 a.m., Oakland police officers responded to an emergency call, and Cloud was pronounced dead at the scene. Cloud had been dealing with the death of his father, who was buried a week before his death.
“The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence,” Cloud’s family said in a statement.
Cloud quickly rose to fame with his role as Fez, a lovable drug dealer, on HBO’s “Euphoria.” It was his first first Hollywood role, and he went on to appear in music videos, like Noah Cyrus’ “All Three,” Juice Wrld’s “Cigaretts” and Karol G and Becky G’s “Mamiii.” Cloud had appeared in the 2021 drama “North Hollywood” and the 2023 film “The Line” before his death. His posthumous credits include the films “Your Lucky Day,” “Freaky Tales” and an untitled monster film from the directors of “Scream VI.”
Cloud was also expected to reprise his role in the third season of “Euphoria” which has not begun production. “We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud,” HBO said in a statement. “He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.”
